Boston Golf at Leo J. Martin Golf Course

In 1925 the Director of the Parks Commission suggested the development of a golf course at the Riverside Recreation Grounds in Weston, Ma. Five years later, the nine-hole golf course was finished, opened to the public, and named The Riverside Golf Course. After a successful season another nine holes were constructed on the south side of the Charles River, and were made open to the public in 1932. Permission was granted to rename the golf course to the Leo Jerome Martin Memorial Golf Course in 1945. Leo J. Martin, an amateur golfer that held membership at Riverside, was a decorated champion winning both the Massachusetts Amateur Championship and New England Amateur championship. He became the first golfer to hold both titles simultaneously. Martin was tragically killed in action during World War II, but will be forever memorialized for being one of the most successful amateur golfers in Massachusetts during his time. Come see for yourself the pristine 18-hole layout where Martin began his legacy.

There is always a new reason to enjoy a day of golf and fun times with family and friends at Leo J. Martin Golf Course. Golf has become the preferred way to enjoy the beauty of nature as well as the thrill of competition.
